Taken just now – snow began at 8am and gave us two centimetres by 10am. So in this shot, Bucegi is out of sight behind the snowcloud, although there is a patch or two of blue sky to the west. The birds are singing again, and the temperature (just below freezing) is rising. A winter reminder, but Spring is not to be denied…
reminds me of Sussex downs, am sure it doesn’t feel like it there?

That’s exactly why it feels like home. Spot on… It’s a lot higher, but the flora and fauna – and the people – are the same. Transylvania has extras, but it’s the same geology – calcium carbonate (chalk in Sussex, limestone here). The road up from town is so like Amberley…
